We’ve drove past here a couple of times and yesterday decided to give it a go!! We were not disappointed!! Beautiful relaxing ambience, amazing food, excellent staff, super clean facilities and reasonably priced. Vicky was very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! There was also an information centre with the history of Stoney Middleton displayed! Will definitely be coming back!! Highly recommended!
We had the pleasure of dining at this spectacular establishment, as we were on an excursion through the area. We were drawn in by the lovely exterior, and outdoor signage. As we walked in we were immediately greeted by a cosy interior and quickly led to a table for 3. The food had a short 10-15 mins wait and I found the staff to be charming, especially Vickie. The food was extremely scrumptious and delectable. Overall I enjoyed my experience, and would recommend anyone in the area or travelling through to stop.
A very warm welcome when we arrived. Everything was great. We were sat in front of the kitchen, which I really like as you I can see how the kitchen is clean & looked after. The waitress was great and answered our questions we had regarding the menu. Food was amazing and came in a quick time frame. Good background music. Everything was really good. Looking forward to visiting here again. The constructive criticism I would give: (but no way a moan, just say to help to improve) When shown to our table, it was a table of 4. But 3 of us. Very easy to move a chair & the cutlery away. The menu was on a clipboard. Again, very easy to take off the individual Breakfast and lunch menus that are in front of the evening menu. Because the food is great and the drinks are flowing the table gets rather tight when the pizzas came out. Just to move the clipboard of menus away would have been a nice touch after we ordered. (Glad we had that fourth chair to put them on!) This venue is new and I’m sure when cashflow in money comes in there will be some money reinvested Toilets were outside. Really clean and tidy. Have no issue with them being outside. But would be nice to have some cover for when it rains. The restaurant is split from the visitors centre, all fine and good, it’s actually nice to look and read after the meal. It would be nice to see a permanent structure like frosted glass to separate the areas. Really great place. If you have read this...... go..... it’s well worth it!
We had a wonderful experience at this pizza place after a long drive. We arrived around 7:50 PM, and even though the last orders were taken at 8:00 PM, we never felt rushed to make our choices. The food was truly delicious, and the music they played created a lovely atmosphere. I also encourage you to take some time to explore the exhibition showcasing the traditional industries in the area. It's well worth a visit and adds so much to the overall experience.
A big thank you to The Cupola ! This was our first visit and we weren't disappointed. There was a wide choice of authentic Italian pizza, plus many other tempting choices. We had the standard size pizza. These were generous and cooked to perfection, piping hot, tasty and were thoroughly enjoyed. The staff and service were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We had a bit of an issue with the wheelchair on the gravel surface in the carpark outside. The staff are fully aware and help was offered. The issue regarding new disabled car space signage and a paved area, is in hand. Following our experience today, we would recommend a visit.
A wonderful find at any time of day. The breakfast menu and early evening pizza menus were extensive with an option of sitting outside in the sun or inside, which is furnished to a welcoming ambience and a high standard. Loved the place and visited 3 times in just a short stay. Excellent!!
Took my mum, aunt and wife for lunch, having been once before, for coffee, in the middle of winter. Food was good quality and all cooked fresh. Great service from the young lady called India. Will be returning without a doubt. Prices very reasonable when compared with other eateries nearby. One warning, you may get a sore neck looking at the floor which is of fabulous Middleton limestone crammed full of fossils.
Called in for breakfast after visiting Eyam. The place was very busy but managed to get seated and got served within good time considering how packed the place was. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was great. It’s dog friendly, and our pooch was brought some water by one of the staff members. The cafe was really nicely decorated and very clean throughout. Breakfast was excellent, good quality ingredients, nicely cooked and presented. The bacon that had been done on the griddle was particularly nice. Great experience overall, and looking forward to coming back for a pizza and a pint one night. ****Edit***** 1 Week after leaving the above 5 star review, unfortunately I have to reduce the rating to a 2. I called into the cafe today after such a great experience last week. Today was fairly quiet, got seated and someone came to take an order within a reasonable time. 3 club sandwiches and a piece of cake and 4 drinks. Drinks came then waited...and waited...and waited for the food. A couple of tables got served but there didn’t seem to be a lot of action in the cooking area, so wondered if our order had gone through. No food after an hour so decided it was time to go. I asked the waitress for the bill for the drinks and explained that our food hadn’t arrived. I got a lukewarm apology of “Sorry, not sure what happened “. Waited another 5 minutes for her to discuss with colleagues then got the drinks bill. I mentioned how good things had been last week, but was disappointed that nobody had realised we hadn’t been served when there were only a few customers in. I would have been happy with an apology with some conviction, asked if we still wanted food, maybe not charge for the drinks due to the error. I don’t leave many negative reviews, and would always give an establishment chance to put things right, but I feel everything was a bit casual and didn’t leave the place feeling there had been a genuine error, but staff had done everything to make me feel I still wanted to return again. Chapter 3! .... Came in today for a breakfast. Very busy but got seated. Service was great, breakfast was great. Just wanted to say a special Thanks to Vicky. She was really welcoming and attentive. I noticed her running around, checking on customers, she came back to us twice about our breakfast and our bill at the end, just to check in on us. She must have covered 2 miles in the time we were there, and all with a smile on her face. This is what customer service should be like. Vicky deserves a medal (or a pay rise).I have revised my rating back to 5 stars, based on todays meal and service, just disappointed with last weeks reaction to us not getting served, but hopefully all back and track and can enjoy Cupola again.
